I still remember that unforgettable moment when I heard hardcore for the very first time. From the very first note, I knew this was the music of my life.
As I grew up, through childhood and my teenage years, I hardly met anyone who listened to hardcore or hard techno. Back then, people where I lived called everyone who liked electronic music "acid heads." They put us all in the same category as people who took drugs at raves.
But my drug has always been music.
And even after almost 30 years since I first heard hardcore, I'm still loyal to it.
Actually, there's no "probably" about it. I consciously chose to get a Thunderdome tattoo with its iconic logo, so people would know that I'm part of hardcore culture-that this music is a part of who I am, forever. I'll always stay true to music that starts at 160 BPM and never stops.
