About the Project
Eugenijus Personal Music Archive is a self-hosted music library and listening history platform built to preserve nearly two decades of my personal music collection and listening habits.
The project was created from a simple idea: my data should belong to me.
Instead of relying on commercial music services, cloud platforms, or subscription-based ecosystems, I decided to build my own software that stores everything on my own server, under my own domain, and in my own database.
The archive is powered by Eugenijus Core, my personal web platform, and follows the philosophy of the IndieWeb movement: own your content, own your data, and control your own software.

How It Works
A custom desktop application communicates directly with my music player and sends playback information to the server in real time.
The archive then automatically:
records the listening history;
creates new artists, albums and tracks when necessary;
updates statistics;
improves missing metadata whenever possible.
Everything happens automatically without relying on third-party scrobbling services.
Independence First
One of the main goals of this project is long-term independence.
I don't want my listening history to disappear because a service shuts down, changes its API, introduces subscriptions, or removes features.
As long as my server exists, my archive exists.
This project is intentionally built as a completely self-hosted solution.
What You Won't Find Here
This archive intentionally does not include:
song lyrics;
music streaming;
embedded YouTube players;
download links;
copyrighted audio files.
The project focuses on documenting and preserving listening history rather than distributing music.
